Girl Scout Day Camp

The girls went to a Girl Scout day camp this week. The theme this year was “Walk Like An Egyptian”. They had a great time and learned a lot about ancient Egypt too.

Falyn’s First Cereal

Falyn had her first cereal last night. We gave her Earth’s Best rice cereal mixed with expressed breastmilk. She didn’t seem to like it much! I think she spit most of it back out. We also let her try out her sippy cup with a bit of water in it. She liked playing with the cup, but didn’t drink out of it. I’m sure she will figure it out soon though. Jared and Riley both helped feed her. They were so cute with her.

First Time in a Cart

Falyn sat in a cart for the first time today. We went to Costco to pick up the invitiations for her Baptism. The floppy seat worked out great! She looked so cute sitting in the cart and had a great time looking all around the store. When we were done shopping, I got hot dogs for the boys and a slice of pizza for me. She sat in the cart looking all around outside while we ate our lunch. I can’t believe how big she is getting already!

Reflections on Summer

I love summer. It’s my favorite time of the year. I love that I don’t have to get up early and rush around getting everyone ready and out the door. I love that it stays light for so long. I love being able to go the beach and eating dinner outside. I love being outside after dinner till dark with all the neighborhood kids playing while the adults talk. I think most of all I love the relaxed pace of summer. The not having to be some place at a specific time, several times a day. It’s nice to be able to take it easy and go where we want we we want to.

Falyn’s New Toy

Today we got Falyn a jumperoo. She really likes it! She has been playing in it for over an hour now. I think you can say that this toy is a big hit!

She was having so much fun playing in it, that she didn’t want out and fell asleep!

Falyn rolled from her front to her back

Falyn just rolled over from her front to her back for the first time. She has rolled from her back to her front a number of times, but never the other way. She was on her back playing with her Einstein Play gym. I looked over and she was on her tummy. She had this proud smile on her face as if to say, “Look what I did mommy!” It was so cute!

Is she left handed?

I’m beginning to think that Falyn is going to be left handed. She only sucks on her left hand and she always reaches for stuff with her left hand. We’ll have to see if this trend continues. I know it is way to early to determine whether she is left or right handed.

First step to getting preliminary plans

The guy who is doing the plans for our bonus room remodel came by today to measure the house. He was her for around 1 1/2 hours and measured the entire house – inside and out. He said it will take 1-2 weeks to get the preliminary plans done. At that point, we will be able to give them to the contractor to work up an estimate for the materials and labor.

Falyn’s First Fourth

All American Baby
Falyn celebrated her first 4th of July today. The day started with a bike parade that all the kids in the neighborhood participated in. They decorated their bikes and rode around the block. Then we got ready for a BBQ. Samantha did face painting for all the kids.
Another view inside the tent
After the BBQ, we went to the mall to watch fireworks. Falyn was fascinated by the fireworks and not at all scared. She stared at them the entire time. We then went back home and did fireworks with the neighbors.
More sparkler action
The kids had a lot of fun with the sparklers and watching the fireworks we set off. The kids didn’t get in bed till almost 10:30. They sure had a fun day though!
