11 Months Old

I can’t believe that in just four short weeks Falyn will be turning one. This past year has flown by! She is such a social baby. She hates to be left alone in a room and loves being around people. She loves playing with her toys and, much to their dismay, the boys’ toys too. She can get into a standing position in the middle of the floor all by herself now, but shows no interest at all in walking. She is eating more and more finger foods and getting to the point where she only wants to feed herself. I didn’t do her 11 month portraits yet because she has a really bad runny nose. She did have fun playing with herself in the mirror this morning, so I took a few pictures. Here’s some more of them.

Frost? In The OC?

The kids were thrilled to see frost on the grass in the front yard this morning. You would have thought it was snow by the way they were acting. It is very rare that you see any frost on the ground. I’ll sure be glad when it starts to warm back up. It’s a battle getting the kids not to wear their shorts. Ya, I know, we are very spoiled weather wise out here.

The Twins Visit the Dentist

I took the twins to the dentist to get their teeth cleaned today. In the past, taking them to the dentist has been quite the challenge. They throw a fit, won’t open their mouth for the dentist and are generally very uncooperative. Today was quite different. The hygienist called Jared back and he went all by himself! She said he was a big boy and could go by himself and that is just what Jared did. A bit later, they called Riley back and he went by himself as well. I kept expecting to hear screaming coming from them, but there was none. They did everything asked – including letting them take x-rays of their teeth. Their teeth are fine, but Jared has a lesion on the inside of his check that the dentist wants an oral surgeon to look at. I’ll make an appointment for that tomorrow. He said he didn’t think it was anything to worry about, but it was better to play it safe and get it checked out.

Falyn’s New Tricks

Falyn has learned two new “tricks”. She can now wave and say “Hi!”. It is so adorable! She has the cutest voice. She can also play peek-a-boo with you. She will take her taggie and cover her face with it, then pull it off and say “peak!”. So cute! I am a bit surprised by how many words she already says at only 10 months of age. Looks like she is going to be a very verbal child. With five older siblings, she will have to be!

Another tooth!

Falyn’s top right tooth has now broken through. That brings her tooth total to 5.

For those of you that keep asking to see pictures of her teeth, here you go:

The plans are in plan check!

The plans for our remodel/addition were dropped off with the city today. They said it will take 2-3 weeks to get back to us. Hopefully they won’t require a bunch of changes to the plans. Once they approve the plans, we will be able to start the demo phase.

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it’s another year already? They say time goes by faster the older you get and I have to agree with that. We all had fun ringing in the new year last night. Don’t the boys look dapper in their hats?

Falyn looked just adorable in her tiara.

Kayli also had a tiara.

And Talia had a hat.

The twins didn’t quite make it all the way to midnight, but everyone else did. We went outside and made lots of noise, setting off fireworks and yelling. Most of the neighbors were also outside having a blast.
