Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was my birthday. I had a really nice day. Dan made me dinner and a cake. Both the dinner and the cake were very yummy and enjoyed by the whole family. I got Photoshop CS3 (which I can’t wait to install and play with), a new cell phone with a camera and bluetooth (which means a new cell phone number), Casting Crowns “The Altar at the Door” CD, a Nikon Lens Pen (for cleaning camera lenses) and a remote controller for my camera (maybe I’ll get around to do a self portrait).

Crown Trouble – Could it really be fixed?

I went to the dentist this morning for yet another try at putting a new crown on my tooth. This time it appears to have gone on just fine with no crack. I’m still a bit leery about eating anything hard though. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t develop a crack any time soon.

End of Soccer Season

Today was the final day of soccer games for the fall season. I’m not yet sure whether or any of the kids will participate in spring soccer. Now that soccer season is over, I thought I would share my schedule. As you can see, our Saturdays since September have been very busy! I had to put this chart together so I could keep track of which kid needed to be where when! We all enjoyed soccer season, but we are all ready to have some free Saturdays!

Kayli’s Famiy of God Award Ceremony

Kayli receive her Family of God medal today. The Family of God medal is a Girl Scout religious award for the Catholic faith. She worked very hard to complete her booklet to get this award. No one else in her troop finished it. I’m very proud of her for sticking with it and finishing what she started.

She was selected to carry the flag at the beginning of the ceremony.

She received her medal from Father Mike.

Thanksgiving Art

The twins are very into doing art projects related to the current season. So, we have been doing Thanksgiving related projects during our MWF Mommy School time. So far we have done a count-down chain, turkey coloring page and today we made hand and foot turkeys. Falyn loved having her foot and hand traced to make her turkey. When I was tracing the twins hands and feet, she kept coming over and putting her hand and feet on the paper wanting me to trace them.

Aidan’s Saint Report

Aidan was selected to read his saint report at this mornings All Saints Day mass. He did such a good job! He looked so cute in his saint costume. Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Ron were also there. We were all so proud of him. His report was on Saint James and here is what it said:

“Saint James was a fisherman. His brother was Saint John the Apostle. Jesus asked him to be a fisher of men. He said, “Yes!”

Our Halloween

Our six Trick-or-Treaters:

Jared – Superman
Talia – Hippie
Kayli – Belle
Aidan – Bionicle
Riley – Power Ranger
Falyn – Fairy Princess

The kids had such a great time last night. I only took Falyn to a few houses to show off how cute she was to the neighbors. She then stayed home and helped me pass out candy before falling asleep around 7 pm. Dan took the rest of the kids out with some of the other neighborhood kids. They came back around 8:00 pm and dropped the boys off. The girls then went back out with Dan till around 9:00 pm. We ended up with over 5 filled pumpkin buckets worth of candy!

Here’s a picture of the kids’ pumpkins.

From left to right, Kayli’s singing pumpking, Talia’s bat pumpkin, Jared’s scary pumpkin, Aidan’s – well I’m not too sure what it is, it started off being a bat, then he just kept carving more out of it, and Riley’s scary pumpkin. Talia, Kayli and Aidan carved their pumpkins all by themself. (I did help with the scooping.) Jared and Riley designed their pumpkins and I helped them carve them. We were all very happy with how nicely they looked all lit up.
