Day 51 – Pool Fill Completed – Pool Construction

The pool is filled! We are so thrilled to have the pool filled with water. It has been such a long road to get to this point. We can’t turn on the heater for a few weeks, but that isn’t stopping the kids from playing in it. Thankfully, we are having Santa Anas, which provide us with warm sunny days. Isn’t it beautiful? I just love the color. So pleased with how the pebble coat turned out.

Day 49 – Pool Construction – Plaster

The workers showed up bright and early to plaster the pool this morning. We decided to go with a Pebble Coat because of the durability. We selected the Aqua Blue color, which is also known as Dolphin Blue. The application is a two day process. They apply the pebble coat one day, then come back the next day to do an acid wash. The process was much faster than I expect with them finishing around noon. I took some video that I will edit it together with tomorrow’s video before posting.

Happy New Year!!!!

Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Ron came over to help us ring in the New Year last night. Everyone managed to stay awake. We greeted the New Year with fireworks, champagne and sparkling cider. 2011 will be a big year for our family. The twins will receive First Communion, Talia will get Confirmed, Falyn starts Kindergarten and Kayli starts 8th grade. Our pool will finally be finished and we plan to remodel out kitchen.
