Falyn’s First Pumpkin Patch Visit

I took Falyn to the pumpkin patch this morning while the twin were in preschool. She liked playing with the pumpkins and the straw. She also enjoyed looking at the animals they a have there. I was able to get some really cute pictures of her. (Which are on flickr.) Everyone there kept commenting on how she is so cute. She gets told, “You are so cute.” so much that she is going to think her name is cute!

A tooth!

Falyn’s first tooth has broken through! You can’t quite see it yet, but you can feel it. I expected it to be on of her bottom two middle teeth, since I can see that they are both on the verge of breaking through. But it wasn’t. It was the tooth to the left of the middle two. She won’t be having a toothless grin for much longer.

How did she get so big?

I’ve had to break out the 12 and 18 month sized clothes. In the last few weeks, Falyn went from 6 month sized clothes, past the 9 months stuff and straight into the 12 month sizes. At this point, I wouldn’t consider buying her anything smaller than 18 months sizes. I can’t believe how quickly she has grown in the past month!

Parish Festival

This weekend was the annual parish festival. This years theme was “Under the Big Top”. We went on Friday afternoon and again on Saturday night. Dan and Talia went back on Sunday night to work at the hamburger booth. The kids had so much fun there! They loved all the rides and the games. The boys’ favorite thing there was what they called “the maze”. It was a house of mirrors that they would go into and play around in for the longest time. The girls’ favorite ride was the Tilt-A-Whirl.

“Mommy, I like you saying please”

Jared asked me what to do with his plate from breakfast. It was a paper plate, so I said, “Put it in the trash please”. He then said “Mommy, I like you saying please”. If you read my post about the parenting seminar, you will know that he was giving me descriptive praise. I’ve been working hard at giving the kids descriptive praise since attending this seminar. It has had a big impact on their behavior and it must be sinking in!

Quote of the Day

“Mommy, Jare-Jare won’t be my twin!” – Riley

I was driving to pick up Aidan when Riley said this. (BTW: My kids often call each other by the first syllable of their name said twice.) I couldn’t help laughing and told them both that they had no choice in the matter, Jared would always be Riley’s twin and Riley would always be Jared’s twin.

Status From the Planner

I spoke with Brian today. He said the plans are almost finished. He expects the word to be done by next Friday (10/13) at which point, the plans will go to the city for approval. Then we will be able to start demo.

Falyn can clap!

Falyn has learned how to clap. It is so cute! This morning the kids were all excited about the church festival this weeking and running around sayng “yah”. I looked over and Falyn was clapping right along with her siblings.

Mommy, I drew a person!

I was uploading the soccer pictures to flickr while the boys were drawing at the table. Jared told me to look at his picture and informed me that he had drawn a person. I was stunned at how good it was! Prior to this, his drawings didn’t at all resemble what he told me they were.
