Another Tooth!

Falyn, who by the way is finally back to her old smiley self, got another tooth today! It’s the tooth to the left of the top middle teeth. These brings the tooth count up to six and continues the lopsided look with her having mostly teeth on the left.

Lip Sync Show

Aidan, Talia and Kayli participated in the annual lip sync show at their school today. Talia and Kayli did songs with their friends and Aidan did a song with his kindergarten class.

This years theme was television theme songs, but they basically allowed any song done on any show that was on tv.

Talia’s song was “The Party’s Just Begun” by the Cheetah Girls. Kayli’s group also did a Cheetah Girls’ song, “Amigas Cheetahs”. Aidan’s class did the Mickey Mouse Club Song. The teachers did songs from several commercials and it was hilarious!

This video is about 16 minutes long and includes Aidan, Talia and Kayli. It also has the teacher’s and a few of the other groups.

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

We had one of our rare rainy days today. It’s been grey and dreary all day. Of course, it ends up absolutely pouring out when I have to pick Aidan up from Kindergarten and the twins up from preschool. Falyn had never been out in the rain before and thought it was very strange that water was falling down from the sky. The stroller got totally drenched. The boys and I got pretty wet too. I made a big pot of chili for dinner tonight. Chili is the prefect food for a rainy day. The kids all love it and it’s just the thing to warm you up on a cold rainy day like today.

The Head Shaking Game

Falyn’s new favorite game is “The Head Shaking Game”. She will shake her head back and forth then look at you. Then you shake your head back and forth. She will laugh and then shake her head back and forth again. She’ll do this over and over again, finding it absolutely hilarious each time.

Plans back from plan check

We got the plans back from plan check yesterday. They have a few minor “corrections” that our planner will have to take care of. We will then have to resubmit them. Hopefully it won’t take as long to get them back once we resubmit them.

Falyn is feeling better

Falyn is almost back to her normal self today. She is still very clingy and cranky, but is now back to smiling again. It was so nice to hear her laughing and playing today. I sure hope this means she is done throwing up! She had some rice mixed with breastmilk and so far has kept it down. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she is on her way back to being 100% healthy.

Update on the leak

The plumber was able to isloate the leak to a pipe running under the kitchen floor. It’s the pipe that supplies hot water to the kitchen sink and dishwasher. He cut off the pipe and capped it off for us. Since we have plans to totally gut the kitchen and redo it, we decided to do a temporary fix (and it better be very temporary). Dan spent most of the day working on fixing it. Here’s what it looks like:

Slab Leak

Looks like we finally found our slab leak! 041 I came downstairs and found water pouring out of a wall in our kitchen. Looks like there is a leak down in the slab under that wall. Those of you who’ve been reading my blog for a while may remember that we have been having wet slab problems for years – July of 2004 to be exact. Every plumber we’ve had out to look at it says there is no leak. Well now they can’t say that. We called around and the soonest we can get a plumber out here is tomorrow morning. So, we are left with this problem until then. We have to keep the water turned of because it comes pouring out when it is on. We will leave it on for a bit for baths, but will have to keep the wet-vac on sucking up the water. At least it’s on the tile and not the carpet.

Here’s the whole in the wall where the water was coming out.

Poor Little Sick Baby

Falyn started throwing up on Tuesday. She was throwing up every five minutes for about 2 hours and then the frequency gradually decreased. When she nursed, she immediated threw it all back up. Wednesday morning I couldn’t get her to nurse at all and ended up pumping and giving her 1/2 teaspoon of my milk every fifteen minutes. If I tried to increase the amount she would start throwing up again. On Thrusday she was doing a bit better so I went back to nursing her. That worked fine for a while, but then she started throwing up again. So, I went back to the 1/2 teaspoon of my milk every 15 minutes. I talked to her doctor and she said that is sounded like Falyn had the rotavirus. She also said that it could last for 7-10 days! She said to continue doing what I was doing and that she should get better in the next few days. Today I am able to nurse Falyn and she has been keeping it down. Poor thing has been just lying in my arms all day long. She isn’t at all her normal smiley happy self. I sure hope she is better soon.
