She has so much hair!

I can’t believe how much hair Falyn has. She has way more than any of my other kids did at the same age. I think having so much hair is why people are always thinking she is older than her age. She sure does look cute in pigtails, doesn’t she?

A Visit to the Nixon Library

We visited the Nixon Library today. Since President Ford passed away last night, there were a lot of news media at the Library. There was a book for visitors to leave condolences for President Ford’s family. We all signed the book. The highlight of the visit for the boys was the large model train exhibit. They would have stayed there for hours watching it if we had let them.

A Visit to the Reagan Library

We drove up to the Reagan Library today. The kids weren’t too into it, but did like seeing Air Force One. The adults enjoyed all the exhibits and the lovely grounds of the library.

Merry Christmas!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

It was a special Christmas for us because we were able to celebrate it with both sets of the kids’ grandparents. It was also Falyn’s first Christmas. We opened presents at home, then the kids were able to play with their new stuff before we went over to Dan’s parents home for dinner and more presents. We all very much enjoyed the day and had a wonderful Christmas.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the day:

Aidan with the Nintendo DS he got from Santa

Jared and Riley with their presents from Santa

Kayli with the bike she got from Santa

Talia with the iShuffle she got from Santa

Falyn with the stuff she got from Santa

Grandma Nelda and Grandpa Charles visiting from Texas

I Can Stand!

Okay, so it’s only for a few seconds – 30 secs is her record. But she is able to stand herself up all by herself in the middle of the floor. She gets so proud of herself and claps and says “Yay!”. It is so cute!

Decorating Ornaments

Today we did our annual Christmas Ornament decorating session. The kids had a lot of fun. It was even more special this year because Aunt Monica, Uncle Steve and their baby Ella and Aunt Theresa, were all there. My parents also arrived from El Paso while everyone was here.

Here’s a picture of Ella, Falyn and Theresa:

Ella is about 6 months older than Falyn.

10 Months Old!

Falyn turned ten months old today! She is such a delightful child. She draws attention where ever I go with her because she is so friendly and cute. She is always smiling at everyone. She now can say: yay, hi, uh-oh, bye, mama, dada and kay-kay (Kayli). She cruises well and is starting to be able to stand a bit by herself. She loves to eat and is has between 1 and 2 jars of food three times a day, in addition to nursing four times a day.

Here’s some of my favorite pictures from her 10 Month set, which were taken in front of our Christmas tree:

Aidan’s Kindergarten Christmas Party

Aidan’s Kindergarten class had their Christmas party today. The highlight of the party was a visit by Santa. Each child got to sit in Santa’s lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. They also made an ornament and decorated Christmas cookies. The kids all had a great time!

An update on my smashed thumb

I know you have all been wondering about my smashed thumb, so I thought I’d post an update. It’s been just over two months now since it happened. The bottom of the nail is now lifting off the finger. It is only a matter of time till the nail completely falls off. It is still attached at the top of the finger, so won’t fall off till that part grows out. In the meantime, I’m keeping it taped so I don’t get the loose part caught on something and rip off the top part.
