My chaotic life raising six kids
The pool is filled! We are so thrilled to have the pool filled with water. It has been such a long road to get to this point. We can’t turn on the heater for a few weeks, but that isn’t stopping the kids from playing in it. Thankfully, we are having Santa Anas, which provide us with warm sunny days. Isn’t it beautiful? I just love the color. So pleased with how the pebble coat turned out.
The day we have waited for for so long is finally here! They did the acid wash and then started filling the pool. The kids were so excited. They could not wait to jump in. The water was freeze cold and it was only around 68 degrees outside, but that did not stop them.
The workers showed up bright and early to plaster the pool this morning. We decided to go with a Pebble Coat because of the durability. We selected the Aqua Blue color, which is also known as Dolphin Blue. The application is a two day process. They apply the pebble coat one day, then come back the next day to do an acid wash. The process was much faster than I expect with them finishing around noon. I took some video that I will edit it together with tomorrow’s video before posting.
The tiles were set in place on the steps and seats. Next step plaster and filling the pool!
They finished up the paver work and got the pool all cleaned up and ready for plaster today.
They started cleaning up all the debris left from cutting the pavers today. They also spread sand over the pavers to fill in the gaps between them.
Concrete was poured on the side of the house to replace the concrete taken out during demo. All the pavers are now in place and the planter caps are all finished.
During breaks in the rain, they work on placing the caps on the planters today.
They delivered the caps for the planters today. They can’t put them in place because it is still raining.
The workers tried hard to get the pavers finished, despite the rain. It is suppose to rain everyday for the next week! This will delay when the pool gets finished, as they can not plaster the pool while it is raining.
