My chaotic life raising six kids
I went with Aidan’s class today on their field trip to the La Brea Tar Pits. This was my first visit there and I really enjoyed it. It was so interesting to hear about all the different animals they found in the pits. Aidan said he liked the trip too.
Dan was given two VIP tickets to tonight’s LA Kings hockey game. The tickets were for a VIP Suite. They were great seats right in the middle of the stadium. This was the first time we had ever been to a hockey game. We still aren’t sure what all the rules of game are, but we enjoyed watching the game anyway. The Kings ended up winning the game 3-1 over the Thrashers.
On top of four soccer games, the church festival was going on today. I dropped Talia off at noon so she could use her unlimited ride bracelet, which was good from noon till 6 pm. She met up with a bunch of her friends and had a great time. After the rest of us got done with the soccer games, we headed over to the festival and had lunch and let the kids play do the game booths. Kayli was able to use Talia wrist band to go on some rides with her friends while the little kids played the games. I then left with the kids, while Dan and Talia stayed to help out at the hamburger booth.
My Girl Scout Troop worked the cookie booth tonight from 6-8 pm. The girls all had a great time. They all worked hard and had a great time helping sell cookies.
The church festival is this weekend. They always let the kids out of school at 12:30 and they get one ticket rides till 3:00. The kids are always so excited and have so much fun.
Kayli and I have been coaching Falyn’s U6 soccer team. Aren’t they cute? Today was the picnic/picture day. They have food and games and do the official team pictures. I took advantage of having all the girls there and in uniform and took a few pictures of the girls myself. They were assigned the lime green uniforms, but we decided to make the team colors be lime green and pink. We bought the girls the pink socks to replace the lime ones and got them pink shoe laces too. It is a battle each week to get Falyn to put on the lime uniform. She hates the color, but will do it because she has the pink socks.
They took off Aidan’s top braces today. He says his teeth feel funny. It will no doubt take a few days to get used to not have the braces. He will go back next week to get a retainer. He will likely have to get them again someday for “phase 2”.
