Today the twins first grade class did square dancing. In the morning they danced with their parents and in the afternoon with their 6th grade buddy. Dan and I both attending in the morning and I went back int he afternoon to take pictures. I danced with Riley and Jared danced with Dan. Riley was adamant that we not switch partners! It was lots of fun and the kids all had a great time.

The first graders have been working all year on their Jump For Joy Show. It was so much fun to watch. All the kids did such a good job and you could tell that they had a blast doing it.

Jared and Riley had their first cub scout meeting tonight. The looked so cute in their tiger cub uniforms! They enjoyed their meeting and are excited about being cub scouts.

Jared and Riley had their 7th birthday today. I can not believe they are seven already. In just a few weeks they will be starting first grade. They have grown up a lot in the past year. They can now ready, write, add, subtract and tie their shoes. They love to play outside on their scooters, bikes and skates. They also enjoy playing with all their toys, making up elaborate games with them. We had a party today to celebrate their birthday. They got a bunch of new toys and have been having a ton of fun playing with all of them.

The twins had their Kindergarten Graduation tonight. It was such a nice ceremony. The kids did several songs and then were awarded their diplomas. It is hard to believe they are already out of kindergarten and will be going into 1st grade next year. Following so closely after Talia’s 8th grade graduation, it made it a bit bitter sweat. I was reminded of Talia’s kindergarten graduation and found it hard to believe it was 9 years ago. It really has gone by so fast and they really do grow up too quickly. These times have to be cherished because all too soon they will be gone.

Here’s Jared and Riley with their teacher Miss Hellbusch. She is such a wonderful kindergarten teacher. I doubt you could find a better one if you tried. They adore her and loved kindergarten.

Here’s all the apples we received at each of the kid’s kindergarten graduations. Just one more to go and all of our kids will have graduated from kindergarten!

The twins had their last day of kindergarten today. They have grown so much and learned to so much this year! They love school and are excited to be going into first grade in September.

The twins kindergarten had their end of the year picnic this morning. All four classes attended. They had four stations that they rotated the different “color” groups through: freeze dance, soccer, parachute and dress-up relay. Jared was in the green group and Riley was in the red group. They did two stations, then had snack and were allowed some free play on the play equipment. They then did the last two stations and had lunch. All the kids had a blast and hated for the picnic to end. Here’s some of my favorite pictures from this morning:

The twins class performed their Farm Show play today. They were all so cute! Jared played a goat, which is the same role that Aidan had when he was in kindergarten. Riley played a cow, along with his friend Matt. Here’s the video of the play.
