Survivor Mud Run

Dan and I did the Survivor Mud Run at Lake Elsinore today. It was so much fun! At the first mud pit, someone foolish enough to wear her wedding ring during the race, lost the ring. I took off all my rings and earrings before the race, not wanting to risk loosing them. There was a very eclectic group of runners, with a lot of wacky outfits. I heard one girl say, “I’m so over this!” before we even got to the half way mark. Dan and I both had a great time and are planning to do it again next year.

Endeavour’s Last Flight

We were lucky enough to be in the flight path when the Space Shuttle Endeavour piggybacked on a 747 took it’s final flight over southern California today. I took this picture from my backyard as it flew at 1500 feet head towards the Boeing plant in Huntington Beach. There were people on their roofs and others lining the roads to watch the shuttle go by. Here’s a few more shots from my backyard

Dan drove over to PCH and waited in Seal Beach for the flyover. Here’s two of his shots:

First Day of High School

Today Kayli started her freshman year and Talia started her senior year of high school. It is hard to imagine that this time next year Talia will be going off to college. I hope she has a great last year of high school and that Kayli has a great first year.

Falyn Lost Tooth #6

Falyn lost her other top front tooth this afternoon. It was getting to be quite the snaggletooth and I had told her it need to come out before her school pictures next week. She was very excited when it popped out while she was jumping into the pool with a floaty around her waist. Her mouth hit the floaty and out popped the tooth. I offer $1 to whomever found the tooth in the pool. Christopher was the lucky winner, refusing to give up the search long after everyone else had quit looking. Her adult teeth are already started to grow back, so she won’t have the cute missing tooth grin for long.

Band Parent Preview Night

Kayli joined the high school band and will be playing flute. They had a preview night tonight for all the parents to come see what the kids have been working on during the past two weeks of band camp. They all sounded great! I think Kayli will enjoy being in band.
