Kindergarten Halloween Party

Aidan’s kindergarten class had a Halloween party today. All the kids got to wear their costumes and they paraded all around the school. They had games, crafts and cookie decorating at their party. Aidan said he has a great time. All the kids looked so cute in their costumes.

Preschool Costume Parade

Today the twins preschool had a costume parade and Halloween party. Jared and Riley both loved wearing their costumes to school. They had fun parading around the school and then got to do “trunk-or-treat” and have a party. I told them that they already have too much candy. To which Riley replied, “I want to keep too much!”.

Carving Pumpkins

Tonight we did our annual pumpkin carving. Talia, Kayli and Aidan carved their pumpkins all by themselves. This was the first year Aidan carved his with no help. He did a great job! He designed the face and cut it out with no help at all. Talia made a bat on hers and Kayli did a scary face with spiders on the side. The twins had help from Daddy in making a “happy face” (Jared) and a “scary face” (Riley). They all had a great time. Afterwards I roasted the seeds from the pumpkins. We have enough to enjoy for several days. Lots more pictures on flickr. If you are’t on my contacts list and want to see them, send me an email.

Pumpkin Patch Visit

This morning I took the boys and Falyn to the pumpkin patch. Grandma Nancy met us there. The first and last thing the boys did there was the haunted house. They loved it! They would have stayed there for hours running through it if I let them. They also enjoyed the rides, animals and playing in the tepees.

Kayli’s October Cotillion

Kayli had her second cotillion last night. This time I was able to attend and took a bunch of pictures (which are all on flickr). She had so much fun! It is so cute to watch them dancing at this age. Last night they learned the beginning steps for the swing, they had previously learned the cha-cha. Besides dancing, they are getting instruction in the social graces as well.

Tooth Number Three

Falyn’s right middle tooth broke through the gum today. That brings her to a total of three teeth now. You can just barely see the other two now. It will still be a few week before they show up well enough for a picture.

8 Months Check-Up and Pictures

Falyn had her 8 month check-up a few days ago. She now weights 18 lbs 5 oz and is 27 1/2 inches long. She is doing just great. She only got one shot this time and it didn’t seem to make her cranky or give her a fever like in the past. We can now feed her anything except: shell fish, peanut butter, egg whites, citrus friut and honey. We’ve been introducing finger foods and she is able to pick them up and feed herself.

I also did her 8 month portraits this week. Here’s some of my favorites:

Ouch! My Toe!

Yesterday Riley dropped his big dinosaur flashlight and it hit my toe. It hit on my left foot on the next to smallest toe. It is big and purple and hurts a lot. I’m pretty sure it is broken, but not much you can do about it, so I won’t be going to the doctor. Good think it is still warm here and I can wear flip-flops. No way I’d be getting my toe into closed toed shoes right now!

8 Months Old

Falyn turned eight months old today. How could she possible be that old already? This last month was full of firsts: she got her first tooth, learned to get into a sitting position by herself, started crawling and learned to pulled herself up. She is such a joy! She smiles at everyone and is so easy going. Everyone is constantly telling her how cute she is. Since she has a cold and a very snotty nose, I’m going to wait till Monday to take her 8 month portraits. Hopefully the runny nose will be gone by then. In the meantime, here’s a picture I took of her a few days ago asleep in her crib.

Play of the Day

It’s soccer Saturday and Aidan and Kayli both had games at noon. Since Dan had to ref the game on the other field where Kayli was playing, I went to Aidan’s game with the twins and the baby. Talia went along with Dan and Kayli to watch Kayli’s game. Only four of the players on Aidan’s team were there. All six of the other team’s players showed up. One of the players on Aidan’s team is not at all interested in playing soccer. He pays no attention to what is going on in the game and wondered off the field more than once. Aidan did great during the game. He did a bunch of saves, keeping the other team from scoring. He also did an assist, kicking it to one of the other boys on his team, who then kicked it in. Watching U6 games often provide lots of humor. Today’s highlight had to be when a boy on the other team, who was sitting out that quarter, came running in from the sidelines and kicked the ball.
